Images of a mouse pelvis and legs were made at various monochromatic X-ray energies demonstrating the tunability of the machine and the results one can expect when selecting energies best suited for the imaging task at hand. At lower energies, the bones are clearly delineated, but at increasing X-ray energy, the skeletal elements become much less visible. This is especially useful if one wished to concentrate on various elements used as k-edge contrast agents.
